Zainullah Fajobi
February 17, 2026As the holy month of Ramadan is upon us, Muslims are preparing in different ways, adjusting routines, planning worship, and Qur’an revision. Adh-Dhikr Press spoke to a few Muslims to find out how ready they feel and what preparations they have made.
“Alhamdulillah, my preparation has been steady. I’ve been trying to be more intentional spiritually, especially with my prayers and self-reflection, while also adjusting my routine mentally and physically to ease into the fast. It’s not about being perfect, but about being more conscious and ready to make the most of Ramadan.”
— Ajadi Azeem
“My preparation for the upcoming Ramadan has been progressing well. I have started adjusting my daily routine, increasing my prayers, and planning to improve my recitation of the Qur’an.”
— Egbeyemi Ibrahim
“My preparation for the upcoming Ramadan has been very simple and sincere. I have been trying to pray more and think more about my faith every day. I am slowly adjusting my daily routine so I can fast well and still handle my normal activities. I am also trying to be more careful with my words and actions. I want to stay calm, be patient, and treat people with kindness. For me, Ramadan is a beautiful time to refresh my heart, ask God for forgiveness, and grow closer to Him. I truly hope this Ramadan brings peace, strength, and many blessings to my life and to those around me.”
— Abdulqadri Abdulqayum
“My preparation for the upcoming Ramadan has been intentional and reflective. I have been working on improving my consistency in prayers, increasing my Qur’an recitation, and making sincere du‘a for strength and discipline. I am also trying to purify my intentions, reduce distractions, and plan my daily schedule so I can maximize the blessings of the month. Spiritually and mentally, I am preparing my heart to seek forgiveness, grow in taqwa, and build habits that will continue even after Ramadan.”
— Roqeebah Fajobi
“Alhamdulillah, we thank Allah, I have fasted a little before Ramadan so I can get used to fasting before the Ramadan period arrives.”
— Olakiku Ibrahim
“My preparation for the upcoming Ramadan has been both spiritual and practical. Spiritually, I have increased my prayers, reading of the Qur’an, and seeking forgiveness to purify my heart. I am also striving to improve my character, show kindness, and avoid negative habits. Practically, I have adjusted my daily schedule, planned my meals, and set personal goals to maximize worship and self-discipline during the month. I pray to make the most of this blessed Ramadan.”
— Sidiqoh Adeoye
“Omoh it hasn’t been easy, because the stress from the teaching practice hasn’t allowed for the proper preparation for Ramadan. Plus financial constraint is part of it as everywhere is hard like this.”
— Adejumo Mubarak
“Alhamdulillah. Just normal preparation, not anything special, just my daily routine but I'm definitely ready. May it meet us in good health.”
— Oladejo Abdulazeez
My plan for the upcoming Ramadan is to get some foodstuffs and other necessities needed. I don't really have much plan because of the tight schedule of my IT but I'm looking forward to supporting those in need of feeding during Ramadan.”
— Abdulgafar Ahmed
“Alhamdulillah. I would say the preparation is not that much but I have tried to improve in some things like waking up in the night, tilawah of the holy Qur'an and checking up on my health.”
— Aderinto Abdulsamad
“I've been preparing by waking up early, reading my Qur'an and praying for Allah's mercies and ease for Ramadan.”
— Oladejo Khalid
