Ustadh Haashim Urges Students to Uphold Islamic Teachings

Ustadh Rasheed Haashim has urged students and youths to uphold the teachings of Islam by waiting patiently to marry legally rather than engaging in zina (adultery), which he described as a grievous sin in Islam.

Ustadh Haashim gave the admonition during the Da’wah Enlightenment held on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, at the University of Ibadan Central Mosque.

Speaking on the topic “Familia Fall”, he broadly explained the meaning of family, the importance of building and sustaining one upon the pleasure of Allah, the grievous consequences of selling eggs, and the necessity of submitting to divine destiny while finding solace in Allah alone.

He emphasized that a family is made up of a husband, wife, and children, and noted that a man is not permitted to have intercourse with a woman except through legal marriage.

He urged students to be wary of worldly temptations and to remain steadfast in following the guidance and laws of Islam.

The Islamic scholar warned that some women deliberately sell their eggs for financial gain, neglecting the harm it causes to family structure and lineage.

He described the practice as destructive because the true mother of the child becomes uncertain, and stressed that anyone who engages in it will surely be held accountable before Allah on the Day of Judgement.

Ustadh Haashim further described it as a grave sin that must be totally avoided by anyone who seeks Allah’s pleasure.

He reminded the audience that everything in life occurs only by Allah’s decree. He advised women who are not blessed with children to continue in prayer and seek help from Allah, rather than turning to practices that He has forbidden.

Ustadh Rasheed Haashim examined the dangers of undermining family roots and lineage, while highlighting the peace and fulfillment that come with adhering strictly to permissible actions in Islam.
