UI Releases 2025/2026 Academic Calendar

January 27, 2026The University of Ibadan has released the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session for both new and returning students.
The calendar began circulating widely among students and members of the university community on Monday, 26 January 2026.
According to the document, online registration for new students is scheduled for Monday, 19 January 2026, while five weeks of virtual lectures are slated to run from Wednesday, 21 January to Friday, 27 February 2026.
Physical resumption for new students for the first semester is expected to take place on Monday, 2 March 2026, followed by a physical orientation programme scheduled for Tuesday, 3 March to Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
Returning students are expected to resume on Thursday, 5 March 2026, which also marks the commencement of online registration for them.
The matriculation ceremony is scheduled to hold physically on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
In addition, 11 weeks have been allocated for teaching, revision and continuous assessment for the first semester, running from Monday, 9 March to Friday, 22 May 2026.
First semester GES examinations are slated for Monday, 25 May to Friday, 29 May 2026, while faculty examinations will run in phases and end on Friday, 26 June 2026.
For the second semester, 11 weeks of teaching, revision and continuous assessment are expected to run from Monday, 13 July to Friday, 9 October 2026, with GES examinations scheduled for Monday, 12 October to Friday, 16 October 2026.
Faculty examinations will subsequently be conducted in phases, ending on Friday, 13 November 2026.
The calendar also indicates that the Senate consideration of final year and non-final year results will hold from Monday, 28 December to Wednesday, 30 December 2026.
The document further states that the 2026/2027 academic session is expected to commence on Monday, 18 January 2027.
