The Chairperson of the Center for Social Orientation, Prof Helen Labeodan said the purpose of the visit was to sow a seed that will help the students say no to bullying, shun cultism, stay away from drug abuse, illicit relationships, disobedience to authority and parents because the Consequences of such activities are grievous and will affect them in the future.

Also, was the presence of the president, the University of Ibadan Students’ Union Mr Oluwatobiloba Samuel who noted that everyone would like to be great, but the only limiting factor will be how we use our time and how we plan. He urged the students to realize that many children do not have the privilege to go to school, and those who have the opportunity should be studious, use their time wisely, and shun cultism or any illicit act that may jeopardize their plans. He also reiterated that they should do away with activities that will turn them away from their dreams, but rather put in more effort to compete with others that are also aspiring to achieve academic excellence, to fulfill their dreams.

In addition, Prof. Labeodan advised them to be grateful to their parents/guardians by excelling in their academic work because the purpose of sending them to school was for them to excel in life. The Students were also encouraged to be God-fearing in all aspects of life, attend classes regularly, obey their teachers, respect their fellow students, and ensure that they participate in activities that will help to develop their dreams.

The team visited four secondary schools along Bashorun and Mokola Axis. The schools were Islamic Day Secondary School, Bashorun St. Louis Grammar School, Mokola (Junior), Bashorun Ojoo High School, Bashorun and Islamic High School 1, Orita Bashorun in Ibadan.
