Students Urged to Maintain Full Concentration During Solat

Students have been advised to maintain full concentration during Solat and observe it as taught by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

This reminder was given by Ustadh Nu’man Bashir, the former Ameer of MSSN Akinyele Area Council, during the Spiritual Night held on Thursday, 12th June, 2025, at the University of Ibadan Central Mosque.

Speaking on the topic “Description of the Prophet’s Solat,” he emphasised that every Muslim should strive for steadfastness and khushu’ (concentration) in their prayer.

He quoted the Prophet’s Hadith: “Pray as you have seen me praying” [Reported by al-Bukhari], and highlighted the importance of emulating the Prophet in all aspects of worship.

Ustadh Nu’man encouraged Muslims to devote at least fifteen minutes to Solat with complete attention to attain full reward.

He also demonstrated how to perform Solat, including what to say while standing, in ruku’u, sujud, and during sitting.

He explained the correct postures, where the gaze should be directed, and which parts of the body should touch the ground during sujud.
