July 13, 2026The University of Ibadan Students' Union (UISU) has clarified enquiries from students regarding the 13-week lecture period reflected in the second semester academic calendar, which runs from Monday, 13th July, 2026, to Friday, 9th October, 2026.
In a statement released on Monday, 13th July, 2026, the Union explained that the lecture duration reflected in the academic calendar is not a system glitch or error but an intentional part of the University's academic schedule for the semester.
According to the statement, the extended lecture period is designed to provide adequate time for effective teaching, learning, and proper coverage of course contents to ensure a balanced academic session.
The Union therefore encouraged students to take advantage of the extended period by remaining committed to their academic activities and making the most of the available time.
