Sheikh Abdur-Rahman ibn Abdul-Aziz As-Sudais has called for united Islamic solidarity and greater concern for the causes affecting Muslims globally.

Delivering the Jumuah Khutbah at Masjid Al-Haram, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, 29th August 2025, Sheikh As-Sudais emphasized that the foremost of these causes is the plight of Palestine.

He expressed deep concern over the ongoing situation in Palestine and urged Muslims to actively work for the well-being of their fellow Muslims.

“It is one of the most important causes of Muslim Ummah, holding both religious and historical significance. It is incumbent upon all of us to strive for their support and to take every possible means towards that end,” he said.

He also called on Muslims to reject policies that harm humanity and advocated for providing relief to the afflicted.

“There must also be strong warning against the policies of displacement, siege, and starvation, which signal a great humanitarian catastrophe.

"It is therefore incumbent upon Muslims to provide relief through official and trustworthy channels, in order to satisfy their hunger and alleviate their distress," he mentioned,” he added.

Sheikh As-Sudais also stressed the need for increased prayers, urging Muslims to seek divine intervention for the afflicted.

"We must increase our supplication for them and encourage one another in this matter, for whoever does not concern himself with the affairs of the Muslims is not one of them," he declared.

Sheikh Abdur-Rahman ibn Abdul-Aziz Al-Sudais is the Chief Imam of the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia and the President of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques.
