Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim, Vice-Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo, has advised newly admitted Muslim students to prepare for the challenges of university life.

The message was delivered by Prof. Maryam Dasola Adeoye on Sunday, 29 March 2026, at the formal opening of the 2026 Orientation Week organised by the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, University of Ibadan (MSSNUI), where Prof. Karim served as Chairperson of the occasion.

She urged the freshers, especially the female students, to prepare for the challenges ahead.

“Your presence here is significant, and you are beginning a journey that will challenge you intellectually, spiritually and socially. It will challenge your values and your identity,” she said.

She also highlighted the broader lessons students gain in school.

“The lessons we learn here go beyond lectures and examinations. They extend to the management of your time, the cultivation of your character and the choices you make in every aspect of your life,” she said.

She particularly encouraged the female students, stressing that faith can coexist with ambition and that it is possible to maintain a strong Islamic identity while excelling academically and socially.
