Adh-Dhikr Press Organisation, the press arm of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, University of Ibadan (MSSNUI), has unveiled guidelines for its 1447AH Ramadan Writing Challenge.

In a release signed by the Editor-in-Chief, Abdullateef Isa, the organisation stated that the challenge is open to “any Muslim student of the University of Ibadan, both freshers and returning students alike.”

He explained that there would be no formal registration or special application process for interested participants.

“There is no special registration or application for the writing challenge, and there is no special group for it,” Isa said.

According to him, the Day One theme will be released at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, 28 February 2026, corresponding to 11 Ramadan 1447AH, through a flyer to be circulated across relevant platforms.

“Once the theme is released, the challenge has been declared open, and anyone qualified and interested is allowed to write on any aspect of the theme,” he added, noting that the submission deadline and other necessary details will be clearly stated on the flyer.

Isa emphasised that participation is strictly progressive, stressing that only students who submit on Day One will be eligible to continue.

“It is only those who submit on Day One that will be able to take part in the challenge for all the other days,” he said, adding that subsequent themes will be sent directly to the email addresses of qualified participants.

He further explained that continuity is mandatory throughout the exercise.

“If someone submits on Day One, Day Two and Day Three but fails to submit on Day Four, the person will not get the theme for Day Five,” Isa stated.

Day One submissions are to be sent to the organisation’s official email address. Participants are required to include their personal details in the body of the email alongside verifiable evidence of studentship, such as an admission letter or a valid student identity card.

The organisation also directed that all submissions must follow a single email thread throughout the duration of the challenge, explaining that acknowledgment of a day’s submission will be sent the following day, while the theme for each new day will be sent on that same day within the thread.

Participants have been advised to properly label their files using their full name and the specific day of submission, for example: “Abdullateef Isa – Day One.”

Isa noted that the initiative is not merely a competition but a structured intellectual exercise designed to instil discipline, nurture creativity and promote consistent engagement among Muslim students during the month of Ramadan.
